New recommendations for Community Animal Health Worker projects

The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) and VSF International are partnering to develop competency and curricula guidelines for Community Animal Health Workers (CAHWs).

This project will identify and assess the factors that contribute to the long-term sustainability of CAHW programmes and will provide recommendations to training and implementing agencies. These guidelines will support the recognition, regulation and integration of CAHWs into animal health systems

Today, VSF International released its first project report “Strengthening the enabling environment for community animal health workers (CAHWs) through development of competency and curricula guidelines”, funded by the USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance.
